Amend the Fisheries Act to include a legal requirement to rebuild fisheries that have fallen into the critical zone (as defined by Fisheries and Oceans Canada).
Bill C-68: An Act to amend the Fisheries Act and other Acts in consequence. Strengthen the rebuilding provisions (6.1, 6.2 and 6.3) of the proposed legislation.
Bill S-238, Ban on Shark Fin Importation Act, An Act to amend the Fisheries Act and the Wild Animal and Plant Protection and Regulation of International and Interprovincial Trade Act (importation of shark fins). Amend the Fisheries Act to prohibit shark finning in Canadian waters and amend the Wild Animal and Plant Protection and Regulation of International and Interprovincial Trade Act to limit the importation of shark fins into Canada.
