Description of the organization's activities
Alberta Grains is a non-profit, statutory corporation, governed by the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act of Alberta. Under this authority, Alberta Grains collects a mandatory but refundable levy for every tonne of wheat or barley sold in Alberta. These funds are directed by a farmer-led board of directors into research, agronomy, market and policy oriented activities. Within these priority areas we advocate on behalf of farmers to mitigate policy or regulatory impacts on their operations.
