• - Re - Nuclear Liability and Compensation Act with regard to language, timing and liability limit, insurance requirements and to make it compatible with the Convention of Supplementary Compensation.
• - Re - the Fisheries Act encouraging regulatory reform, harmonization and equivalencies amongst the regulators to reduce duplication and encourage more efficient use of resources while continuing to manage risk of existing OPG operations as it relates to fish and fish habitat.
• - Re – Brief written submissions in the Consultation on the proposed regulatory approach to prohibit asbestos and products containing asbestos including advocating for reasonable timeframe to phase out all asbestos containing products.

• Discussion on issues pertaining to federal legislation, policy and permits and other approvals affecting OPG’s current operations as well as other potential opportunities to support collaboration and partnership between Indigenous communities and OPG in the areas of new generation development and/or other economic opportunities.
• Discussion on subjects related to the MOU recently signed by Canada and the ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) to help identify the precise domains in which Canadian suppliers could export expertise and technologies on a commercial basis to the ITER Project and OPG’s interest in leading and acting as an agent for the cooperation with ITER.

• Issues pertaining to federal legislation, policies and programs with respect to OPG's existing nuclear operations or new nuclear opportunities including small modular reactors (SMRs).

• - Changes to the Canada Labour Code as they apply to nuclear new build activities in respect to allowing coordination between provincial and federal labour requirements
• - In respect to the Protection of Electricity Critical Infrastructure in Canada, including expediting background checks for prospective employees and contractors, changes to the Criminal Code of Canada relating to "Interference with Electricity Critical Infrastructure" (copper wire theft), "Priority Access for Electricity Critical Infrastructure Personnel to receive Vaccinations and Antivirals" and priority access to "Telecommunications Spectrum".
• - Proposed changes to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 or implementing regulations, towards achievement of improved alignment with the ongoing licensing process for nuclear facilities under the Nuclear Safety and Control Act including ongoing involvement of the proponent in environmental assessment project scope definition to ensure alignment with the licensing approval sought, clarifying the exclusion of minor projects, enhancing the use of completed environmental assessments (EAs) of OPG’s facilities in subsequent environmental assessments involving the same facility or same activities, decreasing duplication between provincial and federal EAs and authorizations under the triggering acts including better focus on key considerations that fall under federal jurisdiction, reduction in triggers under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 where it does not bring environmental or sustainability gains beyond those ensured by other legal or regulatory processes and establishment of timelines by legislation or regulation for all the main phases of the project EA and authorization processes with a more coordinated approach to aboriginal consultations
• - Proposed regulations to reduce Green House Gas (GHG) emissions from the electricity sector’s coal and gas-fired units advocating the role that repowered, low capacity-factor, simple-cycle units plan in the electricity market and seeking confirmation that thermal units repowered to burn biomass, gas, or co-fire biomass/gas will not be subject to the GHG regulation or prematurely closed due to regulation. Advocating for the benefits of financial policy instruments as a form of encouraging development of low-emitting Nuclear, Hydroelectric and BioMass Developments.
• - Re - Regulations required to implement the proposed Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012: Prescribed information for a description of a designated project regulations.
• - Regulatory Framework for Industrial Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Canada in respect to controlling greenhouse gas and conventional air pollutant emissions in the electricity sector including advocating for a role of nuclear energy in meeting targets

Policies or Program

• - Energy policy and the role of Nuclear in regards to Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) restructuring.
• - Re - Federal Waterways with respect to developing tangible actions for and improved policy and practical business practices among infrastructure and operators.
• - Re - The proposal to construct and operate a Deep Geologic Repository (DGR) for low and intermediate level waste (L&ILW) in respect to location of DGR.
• Energy policy related to new energy storage facilities.

Regulation

• Proposed approach to electricity used as a transportation fuel within the proposed Federal Clean Fuel Standard regulations, developed over the course of 2019 and 2020. Seeking confirmation of a role for utilities and electric vehicle charging networks in the generation of credits for clean fuel switching and advising on possible reinvestment requirements for the proceeds of these credits.
• Proposed regulations regarding requirements and guidance for managing fitness for duty of workers in relation to alcohol and drug use and abuse at high-security sites.
• Regulations regarding polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB).
