Description of the organization's activities: THE CANADIAN FILM & TELEVISION PRODUCTION ASSOCIATION (CFTPA) IS THE N ATIONAL ASSOCIATION THAT REPRESENTS THE INTERESTS OF OVER 300 PRODUCERS OPERATING IN ALL REGIONS OF CANADA. THE CFTPA REPRESENTS THE INDUSTRY WITH REGARD TO BOTH FEDERAL AND PROVINCIAL ISSUES INCLUDING REGULATORY MATTERS, TAX ISSUES, CULTURAL AGENCIES AND TRADE ISSUES. THE ASSOCIATION HAS AN ACTIVE TRAINING/MENTORSHIP PROGRAM THAT RECEIVES FUNDING FROM HUMAN RESOURCES CANADA AND THE DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS. IT RECENTLY LAUNCHED A TRAINING DATABASE PARTIALLY FUNDED BY THE ONTARIO GOVERNMENT. THE CFTPA NEGOTIATES THE MAJOR LABOUR AGREEMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE INDUSTRY. WE HAVE THREE OFFICES LOCATED IN OTTAWA, TORONTO AND VANCOUVER.
