APPROXIMATELY ONE-THIRD OF ITS ANNUAL REVENUES COME FROM ITS REPAIR AND OVERHAUL ACTIVITIES WHICH ARE CARRIED OUT AT FACILITIES IN VANCOUVER AND SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. THE VANCOUVER FACILITY, KNOWN AS THE ACRO AEROSPACE DIVISION, OVERHAULS ENGINES AND MAJOR HELICOPTER COMPONENTS, SUCH AS AIRFRAMES, TRANSMISSIONS, ROTOR BLADES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, AND AVIONICS. ACRO IS LICENCED BY ALL MAJOR WESTERN ENGINE AND HELICOPTER MANUFACTURERS. THIS DIVISION HAS CONTRACTS WITH THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT TO OVERHAUL BOTH THE ENGINES AND AIRFRAME COMPONENTS OF THE DND SEA KING HELICOPTERS. OPERATIONALLY, CHC PROVIDES HELICOPTER SUPPORT TO THE DND NORTH WARNING RADAR SYSTEM UNDER A SUB-CONTRACT TO FRONTEC.

ACRO HAS A NUMBER OF DND INITIATIVES UNDERWAY INVOLVING THE ENGINES FOR BOTH THE CURRENT SEA KING AND LABRADOR HELICOPTERS; ASSEMBLY AND SUPPORT OF THE ENGINES FOR THE CORMORANT; AND INVOLVEMENT IN A NUMBER OF NEW PROGRAMS FOR THE GRIFFON FLEET. THEY ARE ALSO PARTICIPATING IN THE DISPOSAL OF THE CH135 FLEET.CHC HAS AN ONGOING INTEREST IN CURRENT AND POTENTIAL ALTERNATIVE SERVICE DELIVERY OPPORTUNITIES, SUCH AS-SUPPORT TO THE NORTH WARNING SYSTEM -CONTRACTING OUT DND BASE RESCUE HELICOPTER OPERATIONS-PROVIDING HELICOPTER SERVICES TO FISHERIES AND OCEANS CANADA.
