Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) is an independent not-for-profit corporation created by the Government of Canada responsible for the management of two funds dedicated to helping bring new clean technologies to market and to support the establishment of facilities for the production of renewable fuels. With the first fund, the SD Tech Fund, SDTC's mandate is to help industry take innovative sustainable development technologies that contribute to combating climate change, clean air, clean land, and clean water through the critical pre-commercialization phases of development and demonstration. Up to a portfolio average of 33% of eligible project costs can be funded by SDTC.With the second fund, the NextGen Biofuels Fund, SDTC may support up to 40% of eligible project costs for the establishment of first-of-kind large demonstration-scale facilities for the production of next-generation renewable fuels. In addition to providing funding , SDTC works directly with technology developers to strengthen their entrepreneurial skills and to reduce the risk in their emerging clean technologies.
