| Description of the organization's activities: | THE WEST COAST ENVIRONMENTAL LAW ASSOCIATION (WCELA) HAS BEEN OPERATING AN ENVIRONMENTAL LAW CENTRE IN BC SINCE 1974. WE PROVIDE FREE LEGAL ADVICE TO ANYONE IN THE PROVINCE WITH ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS. IN ADDITION, WE ADVOCATE LEGISLATIVE REFORMS TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT AND TO ENSURE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN ENVIRONMENTAL DECISION-MAKING. | ||||||

THE FEE IS $20 PER YEAR ($10 FOR LOW INCOME). MEMBERS RECEIVE OUR NEWSLETTER (10 TIMES A YEAR) PLUS SPECIAL UPDATES AND AN INVITATION TO OUR ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. PARTICIPATION IN THE CANADIAN ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT AGENCY [ CEAA], REGULATORY ADVISORY COMMITTEE (RAC), CROWN CORPORATION SUBCOMMITTEE - REVIEW OF ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PROCEDURES FOR PORT CORPORATIONS AND HARBOUR COMMISSIONS.
