Engaging the government of Canada to discuss regulation "Standard 723 - Air Taxi: Aeroplanes - Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)", more specifically, the impact of the new requirement for flight duty times on services provided to but not limited to remote First Nation communities, remote communities, as well as several sectors including tourism, mining, forestry to name a few. These regulations require more pilots and will therefore leave air carriers with no choice but to reduce transportation for medical appointments, court appointments, delivery of necessities, tourists and workers.
Over the last year it has become very clear that these regulations are having broad negative impacts on critical air transportation across Canada. Airports are losing regular scheduled flights from regional air carriers, air carriers are finding the NOI process unaffordable, too challenging to navigate and slow to respond, and compliance for 703 and 702 air operators is extremely challenging as they juggle meeting the needs of clients and keeping their businesses viable.
