- Water protection: Amend the Navigation Protection Act to restore lost protections and introduce modern safeguards

- Climate change: Development of a national climate change policy framework, national greenhouse gas reduction targets and plans to implement both (enabled through legislation, regulation and policy); legislative proposals related to legal accountability for climate-related loss and damage.
- National Energy Board: Reform the National Energy Board Act and regulations to improve public participation, give effect to UNDRIP, align with Environmental Assessment Act reform, and to consider and apply national climate policy when decisions are made about energy infrastructure projects.

- Coastal green infrastructure: Policy measures related to implementation of coastal green infrastructure as a sea level rise response strategy; development of a co-management framework for the Salish Sea and sub-regions of the Salish Sea; development and legal implementation of regional and sub-regional green infrastructure strategies.
- Green budget: Make a consolidated annual set of recommendations to the federal government regarding strategic fiscal and budgetary opportunities to address the most pressing issues regarding environmental sustainability in Canada

THE WEST COAST ENVIRONMENTAL LAW ASSOCIATION (WCELA) HAS BEEN OPERATING AN ENVIRONMENTAL LAW CENTRE IN BRITISH COLUMBIA SINCE 1974. WE PROVIDE FREE LEGAL ADVICE TO INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS IN THE PROVINCE WITH ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS. IN ADDITION, WE ADVOCATE LEGISLATIVE REFORMS TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT AND TO ENSURE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN ENVIRONMENTAL DECISION-MAKING.
