Description of the organization's activities: THE WEST COAST ENVIRONMENTAL LAW ASSOCIATION (WCELA) HAS BEEN OPERATING AN ENVIRONMENTAL LAW CENTRE IN BRITISH COLUMBIA SINCE 1974. WE PROVIDE FREE LEGAL ADVICE TO ANYONE IN THE PROVINCE WITH ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS. IN ADDITION, WE ADVOCATE LEGISLATIVE REFORMS TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT AND TO ENSURE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN ENVIRONMENTAL DECISION-MAKING.
Organization's membership or classes of membership: WE ARE A NON-MEMBER BASED ORGANIZATION. THE DIRECTORS AND BOARD NOMINEES ARE MEMBERS OF THE SOCIETY. WE HAVE ESTABLISHED A SUPPORTER PROGRAM AND FOR PAYMENT OF $20 SUPPORTERS RECEIVE OUR NEWSLETTER (4 TIMES A YEAR).
