Our members cover most types of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, components, systems supply and integration, fuelling systems, fuel storage, and engineering and financial services. As a collective voice for the industry, Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Canada works to raise awareness of the economic, environmental and social benefits of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies and products. Subject Matter: Retrospective: In 2006, Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Canada on behalf of its member organization undertook lobbying activities to accelerate the development and commercialization of Canada's hydrogen and fuel cell industry. The most significant activity was a "Day on the Hill" that took place in Ottawa from June 6-7, 2006. This coordinated activity saw hydrogen and fuel cell industry leaders participate in over 20 meetings with various government officials over 2 days. The purpose of these meetings were to raise awareness of the benefits of Canada's hydrogen and fuel cell industry, and to gain support for the industry's "Government Partnership Proposal" (available by request). This proposal outlines various policy, program and tax measures that would benefit the growth and development of the broader Canadian hydrogen and fuel cell sector. In addition, the proposal advocates for a National Strategy for the Canadian sector. The "Day on the Hill" activity also included an evening reception on Parliament Hill. Throughout the following months, Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Canada continued its correspondence and meetings vis-a-vis the "Government Partnership Proposal" with various government officials in key departments, including but not limited to Industry Canada, Environment Canada, Natural Resources Canada, Western Economic Diversification Canada, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, National Research Council Canada.
Subject Matter: Prospective: In the coming months, Hydrogen & Fuel Cells Canada continue its correspondence and meetings vis-a-vis the "Government Partnership Proposal" with various government officials in key departments, including but not limited to Industry Canada, Environment Canada, Natural Resources Canada, Western Economic Diversification Canada, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, National Research Council Canada. A "Day on the Hill" lobby activity is currently planned for the Fall of 2007.
