Description of the organization's activities: THE CANADIAN LUNG ASSOCIATION IS A VOLUNTARY HEALTH ORGANIZATION FOUNDED IN 1900 TO PROVIDE BETTER SERVICES TO, AND FACILITIES FOR, TUBERCULOSIS PATIENTS. THE ASSOCIATION'S MISSION TODAY IS TO LEAD NATIONWIDE AND INTERNATIONAL LUNG HEALTH INITIATIVES: PREVENTING LUNG DISEASE; HELPING PEOPLE MANAGE LUNG DISEASE; AND PROMOTING LUNG HEALTH. ITS PRIMARY WORK INVOLVES MEDICAL RESEARCH, EDUCATION AND PROMOTION OF HEALTHY LIFESTYLES.
