Description of the organization's activities: | The mission of the Association is to promote the growth snf developemtn of a safe and environmentally responsible Canadian propane industry. The broad functions include promotion of the interests of the industry, including working with government on legislation, policies and programs affecting propane, public education, incident emergency repsonse, and delivery of industry specific training programs. |

Subject Matter: Prospective: | The Association will be meeting with officials of the Ministries of Natural Resources, Environment, Industry, Agriculture and Finance, seeking support for the enactment of legislation to enable the propane industry to implement a mandatory industry levy on every litre of odourized propane sold in Canada. The Association, as a part of the Coalition of Rail Shippers, will also be meeting this fall with Transport Canada officials and possibly the House of Commons' Standing Committee on Transportation seeking quick passage of Bill C-58.The Association will also be meeting with Transport Canada officials regarding Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations.The Association will be meeting with Environment Canada officials seeking amendments to the Environmental Protection Act. | ||||||||||
