Description of the organization's activities: Wildlife Habitat Canada (WHC) is a national, non-profit, conservation organization established in 1984 by Environment Canada, provincial wildlife agencies and conservation organizations.WHC envisions a future where Canadians share a conservation ethic that recognizes the fundamental importance of wildlife habitats that are abundant, rich and support biodiversity, and that inspires the rest of the world.WHC works through partnerships with communities, landowners, governments, non-government organizations, and industry to promote the conservation, restoration and enhancement of wildlife habitat in order to retain the diversity, distribution and abundance of wildlife; to provide a funding mechanism for habitat projects; and to foster coordination and leadership in the conservation, restoration and enhancement of wildlife habitat in Canada.
