Description of the organization's activities
THE CANADIAN FEDERATION FOR THE HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES PROMOTES RESEARCH AND SCHOLARSHIP IN THE HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES, AND A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE IMPORTANCE OF SUCH WORK FOR CANADA AND THE WORLD. THE FEDERATION ADVOCATES THE CONCERNS OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES COMMUNITIES; ASSISTS IN THE FORMULATION OF RESEARCH POLICIES IN THESE AREAS; FOSTERS TEACHING AND LEARNING IN THE HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES AT ALL LEVELS OF EDUCATION; FACILITATES THE WORK OF GROUPS OF SCHOLARS; ACTS AS A FEDERATION OF LEARNED SOCIETIES; AND ENCOURAGES AND PROMOTES RESEARCH AND THE PUBLICATION AND DISSEMINATION OF SCHOLARSHIP IN HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES.
