Its distribution service area extends throughout northern Ontario from the Manitoba border to the North Bay/Muskoka area, through southwestern Ontario from Windsor to just west of Toronto, and across eastern Ontario from Port Hope to Cornwall. The Company also provides natural gas storage and transportation services for other utilities and energy market participants in Ontario, Quebec and the United States. Union's storage and transmission system forms an important link in the movement of natural gas from Western Canadian and U.S. supply basins to Central Canadian and Northeast U.S. markets. Union Gas has assets of approximately $4 billion and employs about 2,200 people. Union Gas is a Spectra Energy Company. |
