• AFMC has developed a proposal, with the Canadian Medical Associaiton, to repatriate Canadians studying medicine abroad by offering clerkship opportunities for them in Canada. This proposal also involves increasing the number of residency positions in Canada to accommodate those students successful in the CaRMS match. We are presenting this proposal to Industry Canada as well as Health Canada
• AFMC has proposed that the Federal Government examine the possibility of investing, on a cost-sharing basis with the provinces, in the creation of one or more new faculties of Medicine.

• AFMC has created a response to the Federal Science and Technology (S&T) strategy, including proposed priorities for spending and programming in health-related areas.
• AFMC has developed several proposals around health human resources including policy changes to the way international medical graduates are handled, Visa Trainees, clinical teachers and investigators, as well as the creation of a national observatory to centralize HHR planning at the federal level.
• AFMC has proposed to the Minster of Finance, and other MPs and Senators, that Canada create a federal program, titled the Canadian Medical Education Innovation Fund, which would provide funds for AFMC to identify. evaluate, and disseminate innovative approaches to medical education throughout Canada.
• AFMC has submitted a proposal to the Office of Nursing Policy of Health Canada for funding the implementation phase of our Accreditation of Inter-professional Education project
• AFMC is submitting a proposal for project regarding clinical teachers in our system of medical education
• AFMC seeks increased funding for it's social accountability initiatives including projects around enhancing educational programming relating to professionalism, aboriginal health needs, public health, end-of-life/palliative care and Francophone minorities.

• AFMC has submitted a proposal to Health Canada to extend project funding for the "Future of Medical Education in Canada" project to include both Post-Graduate Medical Education and Continuing Professional Development
