Description of the organization's activities: INCORPORATED IN 1940, THE CANADIAN HEARING SOCIETY IS A NON-PROFIT AGENCY THAT PROVIDES A WIDE RANGE OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES TO ENHANCE THE INDEPENDENCE OF DEAF, DEAFENED AND HARD OF HEARING CANADIANS AND TO ENCOURAGE THE PREVENTION OF HEARING LOSS. SERVICES INCLUDE AUDIOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT, HEARING AID DISPENSING, THE SALE OF TECHNICAL DEVICES, AURAL REHABILITATION, SIGN LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION, INTERPRETER SERVICE, EMPLOYMENT SERVICE, MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELLING, COMMUNITY OUTREACH TO SENIORS, AND PUBLIC INFORMATION AND EDUCATION.
