- Work with the Government of Canada to reactivate National Awareness Week, a program formally funded by the Government of Canada following the Rick Hansen Man in Motion World Tour. This may include initiatives, policy changes, program funding and/or a legislative proposal, bill or resolution.

- Communication with the Government of Canada, to keep them informed of the use and outcomes of their investment in spinal cord injury research, as well as the outcomes of any projects around which we collaborate in order to maintain funding and to seek future funding.
- Funded in part by the Government of Canada, to implement our signature event, Canada 150 Access4All Signature Initiative, for Canada’s 150th Anniversary.
- Work with Government of Canada around supporting a training and employment program for people with disabilities through the Opportunities Fund.
- Work with the Government of Canada to promote the Rick Hansen School Program to promote the adoption of this already existing program in every school in Canada.
- Work with the various government programs that support accessibility, inclusion, and a world without barriers, particularly in the built environment around an accessibility Certification Program which will assess and rate the built environment of Canada against a common standard (example Canadian Standards Association).

Description of the organization's activities
The Rick Hansen Foundation (RHF) is a non-profit organization, established in 1988, to raise funds and awareness to create a world without barriers for people with disabilities. For 30 years, RHF has worked diligently to achieve real change through collaboration, partnerships and teamwork, to create an accessible and inclusive world, and liberate the amazing potential of people with disabilities. RHF is leading a global movement to ensure that everyone has an equal chance at participating fully in life.
RHF programs include:
• The Rick Hansen School Program, a curriculum focused on disability awareness and social responsibility
• The Rick Hansen Foundation Certification Program, a program to recruit, train and employ people with disabilities to rate the accessibility of the built environment and other areas (e.g. employment, customer service, transportation, IT) and encourage businesses to reach higher and exceed mandated minimum standards
• Accessibility Grants, which provides grants to respond to priority needs of individuals with disabilities
• Planat, an online accessibility database and administrative hub for the RHF Certification Program
• Access and Inclusion hub, an online portal to provide a dynamic collaboration platform to give the movement a global voice.
• Support for the Blusson Spinal Cord Centre, which houses world class spinal cord injury researchers and health care providers.
