Description of the organization's activities
The Salvation Army is an international Christian church. The mission of The Salvation Army in Canada is to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world. Its vision is to be an innovative partner, mobilized to share hope wherever there is hardship and to build communities that are just and know the love of Jesus. The Salvation Army carries out its mission through the establishment and operation of emergency shelters, transitional and supportive housing, hospitals, long-term care facilities, churches, Colleges for Officer Training, Shelters and Workshops for Persons Convicted of Criminal Offences, residential and day treatment programs for persons experiencing addiction to drugs and alcohol, Emergency and Disaster Relief.
