Description of the organization's activities: THE CELA FOUNDED IN 1970, IS A NON-PROFIT ENVIRONMENTAL LAW CLINIC FUNDED BY LEGAL AID ONTARIO. ITS FUNCTIONS INCLUDE: REPRESENTATION OF LOW INCOME PEOPLE AND NON-PROFIT ENVIRONMENTAL GROUPS IN CASES BEFORE THE COURTS AND ADMINISTRATIVE TRIBUNALS, PROMOTING LAW REFORM TO ENHANCE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, PROVIDING LEGAL AND ENVIROMENTAL EDUCATION TO THE PUBLIC. IN ADDITION TO THE LEGAL SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE CLINIC, IT MAINTAINS A LIBRARY ACCESSIBLE TO THE PUBLIC BY CONTAINING AN EXTENSIVE COLLECTION OF MATERIALS RELATED TO ENVIRONMENTAL LAW AND POLICY AND SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL MATERIALS.
