Description of the organization's activities: The David Suzuki Foundation is a charitable organization that since 1990 has worked to find ways for society to live in balance with the natural world that sustains us. Focusing on four program areas - oceans and sustainable fishing; climate change and clean energy; sustainability; and the Nature Challenge - the Foundation uses science and education to promote solutions that conserve nature and help achieve sustainability within a generation.
Organization's membership or classes of membership: The Foundation has only three official "Members" - Dr. David Suzuki (Chair), Dr. Tara Cullis (President) and Mr. Miles Richardson - who founded the organization in 1990. Individuals who support the work of the Foundation financially are considered "Donors" and receive regular newsletters and information about the Foundation's activities. Groups and individuals can also participate in the Foundation's "Nature Challenge" program through which they receive updates and information about the Foundations ongoing efforts to achieve sustainability within a generation in Canada. No financial contribution to the Foundation is required for this group.
