FPINNOVATIONS IS A NON-PROFIT RESEARCH AND EDUCATION ORGANIZATION. IT OPERATES RESEARCH LABORATORIES IN POINTE-CLAIRE AND QUÉBEC CITY, QUÉBEC AND VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, AND EDUCATION AND POST-GRADUATE RESEARCH PROGRAMS AT CENTRES ON THE CAMPUS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA, MCGILL UNIVERSITY, AND ÉCOLE POLYTECHNIQUE. APPROXIMATELY 500 SCIENTISTS, ENGINEERS, TECHNICAL, AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT STAFF WORK AT THESE LOCATIONS. THE OPERATING BUDGETS FOR FPINNOVATIONS ARE PROVIDED BY MEMBER COMPANIES AND FEDERAL AND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENTS. OUR ACTIVITIES INCLUDE APPLIED RESEARCH, INNOVATION DEVELOPMENT AND DEPLOYMENT, TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND SPECIALISED TECHNICAL SERVICES, AS WELL AS GRADUATE AND CONTINUING EDUCATION TO TRAIN SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS FOR THE CANADIAN FOREST INDUSTRY.
