- Canada's policy related to prescription drugs including, but not limited to, controlled drugs and substances, as well as policy related to a proposed national pharmacare program
- Food and Drug Act - to provide commentary and feedback, when required, on the production, import, export, transport across provinces and sale of food, drugs, contraceptive devices and cosmetics and to provide the pharmacy profession's input on the safety and effectiveness of these products
- Non Insured Health Benefits Program (NIHB) - lobbying for the pharmacy services in connection with the drug benefits provided to first nations in Ontario. It covers all spectrums of the pharmacy benefits including prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, open benefit drugs, Limited Use benefits, billing/payment, etc.
- Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations - Canada's policies related to pricing of new or current pharmaceutical prescription drug products
Regulation
- Proposed amendments to regulations to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- support the proposed amendments to regulations to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (‘CDSA’) calling for the sale of all codeine-based preparations pursuant to a prescription from an authorized prescriber, with the added recommendation of including prescriptive authority for pharmacists under the CDSA.
- Regulations under the Cannabis Act regarding feedback on the kinds of products pharmacists and pharmacies would be interested in purchasing, manufacturing, or selling, should a legal pathway to market for cannabis health products be established.

Description of the organization's activities
The Ontario Pharmacists Association is the largest advocacy organization and continuing education provider for pharmacy professionals in Canada. We are dedicated to working on behalf of patients, pharmacists, pharmacy students, and pharmacy technicians across the province to evolve the practice of pharmacy and advocate for the highest standards of professional excellence and fair compensation. We believe that by leveraging the unique expertise of pharmacy professionals, by enabling them to practice to their fullest potential, and by making them more accessible to all Ontarians, we will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the province’s healthcare system. We enable and inspire our members and the profession by evolving the practice of pharmacy, advocating for professional excellence, and providing the innovative tools, education and services needed to deliver high quality patient-focused care. We envision a province with a collaborative healthcare system, where all Ontarians trust, utilize and support the role of pharmacists and pharmacy services as integral parts of their everyday health and wellness.

Organization's membership or classes of membership
The Ontario Pharmacists Association represents pharmacists, pharmacy students, and pharmacy technicians working in a variety of settings and roles. Incorporated in 1966, our organization is governed by a Board of Directors elected by pharmacy professionals from five districts across the province, and includes representatives from hospitals and community pharmacies in Ontario.
