Description of the organization's activities
Through direct field work, education and training programs, campaigning and legislative work, the World Society for the Protection of Animals is working globally, including within Canada, to end animal cruelty and make animals matter.

Organization's membership or classes of membership
WSPA's Canadian board consists of seven voting members and one non-voting member. WSPA Canada works in affiliation with its member societies, of which there are presently 27 in Canada, including SPCAs, humane societies and other animal welfare organizations. Our work is supported through the donations of more than 40,000 individual supporters (including 6,000 monthly supporters), also called members. To be considered an active supporter, you must have given a donation at least once in the past 18 months. Neither member societies or individual members have voting rights.
