The WSPA would like to see the wellbeing of animals integrated in Canada's international development policies to protect peoples' livelihoods, build community resilience, guarantee food security and long-term recovery. With 50 years experience helping governments and people protect animals before, during and after disasters, we can assist the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade & Development (DFATD) when needed on relevant policies and strategies. Our long term experience shows us that integrating animals into humanitarian disaster management is fundamental to achieving effective and sustainable solutions.
