Description of the organization's activities: THE INSURANCE BROKERS ASSOCIATION OF CANADA (IBAC) IS THE NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION OF PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE INTERMEDIARIES IN CANADA. IBAC WORKS TO ELEVATE THE STATUS OF INSURANCE INTERMEDIARIES THROUGH PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND BY ESTABLISHING STANDARDS OF QUALIFICATION AND ETHICAL PRACTICE. IT MAINTAINS LICENSING COURSES AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR ITS MEMBER ASSOCIATIONS. IN ADDITION, THROUGH ITS SPECIAL COMMITTEES AND THROUGH LIAISON EFFORTS, IBAC PLAYS A LEADING ROLE IN THE CONSULTATION PROCESS BETWEEN GOVERNMENT AND THE INDUSTRY.
