Description of the organization's activities: | THE CULTURAL HUMAN RESOURCES COUNCIL (CHRC) IS A SECTORAL COUNCIL, ESTABLISHED IN 1995 FOLLOWING A COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF THE CULTURAL LABOUR FORCE UNDERTAKEN JOINTLY BY HRDC AND THE CULTURAL SECTOR. IT REPRESENTS EMPLOYEES, THE SELF-EMPLOYED AND EMPLOYERS IN THE CULTURAL SECTOR, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING SUB SECTORS: VISUAL ARTS AND CRAFTS, HERITAGE, MUSIC AND SOUND RECORDING, NEW MEDIA, AUDIO VISUAL AND LIVE PERFORMING ARTS, AND WRITING AND PUBLISHING. IT BRINGS TOGETHER REPRESENTATIVES OF THESE SUB SECTORS TO ADDRESS THE TRAINING, CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND OTHER HUMAN RESOURCE NEEDS OF CULTURAL WORKERS INCLUDING ARTISTS, CREATORS, TECHNICAL STAFF AND MANAGERS, AND OF EMPLOYERS IN THE SECTOR.
