Description of the organization's activities
The Canadian Council of Professional Geoscientists (CCPG) is the national organization of the self-regulating provincial/territorial professional associations that govern the profession of geoscience in each of the jurisdictions in Canada in whoch geoscience is a regulated profession. There are currently 9900 registered professional geoscientists in Canada. Working on behalf of its member associations, the "mission" CCPG is to develop consistent high standards for licensure and practice of geoscience, facilitate national and international mobility, and promote the recognition of Canadian professional geoscientists. The "vision" of CCPG is to be the organization that provides national leadership in Canadian professional geoscience, and to be recognized as representing Canadian professional geoscience nationally and internationally.
