Description of the organization's activities
Geoscientists Canada is the national organization of the self-regulating provincial/territorial professional associations that govern the profession of geoscience in each of the jurisdictions in Canada in which geoscience is a regulated profession. There are currently 10500 registered professional geoscientists in Canada. Working on behalf of its member associations, the "mission" of Geoscientists Canada is to develop consistent high standards for licensure and practice of geoscience, facilitate national and international mobility, and promote the recognition of Canadian professional geoscientists. The "vision" of Geoscientists Canada is to be the organization that provides national leadership in Canadian professional geoscience, and to be recognized as representing Canadian professional geoscience nationally and internationally. Geoscientists Canada is the business name of the Canadian Council of Professional Geoscientists.
