-Supporting people with rent and help they need to stay housed (RGI program, etc)
- Sustain social housing funding from CMHC of approximately 1.7 billion annually for the purpose of ensuring social housing providers can continue to offer affordable rents to low income tenants

- CHRA believes the federal government should put in place tax reforms and measures that will support the development of market rental housing. There are a number of options that the federal government could use in order to do so, including the reinstatement of the ability of developers of rental property to defer capital gains tax if they reinvest in another rental property.

FOUNDED IN 1968, THE CANADIAN HOUSING AND RENEWAL ASSOCIATION (CHRA) IS A NATIONAL NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION REPRESENTING THOSE WHO DEVELOP, MANAGE AND DELIVER HOUSING PROGRAMS IN COMMUNITIES ACROSS CANADA. OUR MISSION IS TO PROMOTE ACCESS TO ADEQUATE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING BY INFLUENCING HOUSING POLICIES AND PROGRAMS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
