Advocate for the creation of a grant program for Canadian small and medium companies that seek life-cycle assessment and environmental product declarations for their low-carbon building materials.
CAGBC is requesting an extension to deliver the Sectoral Workforce Solutions Program to maximize the benefits for Canadians employers and workers seeking opportunities in the green building sector.

Grant, Contribution or Other Financial Benefit, Policies or Program

Advocate for investment from Natural Resources Canada, Treasury Board Secretariat and other federal departments in building data that will enable zero carbon transition planning and energy benchmarking, disclosure and labelling standards/guidelines.
Include voluntary standards such as Zero Carbon Building Standard and LEED in the strategic policies or programs of Natural Resources Canada, Treasury Board Secretariat, Public Services and Procurements Canada and Infrastructure Canada.
Support current federal tax incentives, including the clean technology investment tax credit (ITC) and request to extend the ITC to high-performing envelope technologies (glazing, cladding)

Support development of a Canada Green Buildings Strategy focused on reducing carbon emissions and energy demand.
Support the greening government strategy and the operations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the federal buildings portfolio.
