Subject Matter: Retrospective: The Canadian Association of Income Funds (CAIF) has been monitoring, and continues to do so, the progress of the Consultation Paper for Income Trusts which is being prepared by the Ministry of Finance. In the past two-month period this has been the continuing work of CAIF with respect to the Federal Government.
Subject Matter: Prospective: The Canadian Association of Income Funds will continue to monitor the progress of the Consultation Paper for Income Trusts which is being prepared by the Ministry of Finance. Once the Consultation Paper is issued to the public it is expected that the Canadian Association of Income Funds will, if permitted, submit a formal response.It can also be anticipated that any Federal Government initiative which implicates, or will otherwise have an impact on, the income trust industry will be reviewed and considered by the Canadian Association of Income Funds and its individual members.
