THIS SERVICE IS AN ELECTRONIC LIBRARY OF TOBACCO INFORMATION AND DATABASES THAT COVER LEGISLATION, TAXATION, CESSATION, PREVENTION, ENVIRONMENTAL TOBACCO SMOKE (ETS) AND DENORMALIZATION.WE ALSO ARE COORDINATING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NETWORK OF QUITLINES FOR HEALTH CANADA. THIS IS MEANT TO SHARE LEARNINGS ACROSS THE COUNTRY FROM THOSE WHO PROVIDE THESE SERVICES.FURTHER WE SUPPORT THE FEDERAL STRATEGY ON TOBACCO CONTROL AND HAVE PROVIDED RESEARCH, BRIEFS, PAPERS AND SUPPORT FOR ALL ASPECTS OF THE STRATEGY FROM BOTH A NATIONAL PERSPECTIVE AND INTERNATIONALLY (FCTC). |
Subject Matter: Prospective: | WE ARE IMPLIMENTING A KNOWLEDGE SYNTHESIS IN OUR WORK TO HELP THE FIELD COPE WITH THE GROWING BASE OF RESEARCH AND PRACTICE IN TOBACCO CONTROL. WE WILL BE LOOKING TO OUR PROVINCIAL AND FEDERAL PARTNERS TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP TO ENSURE THAT OUR NATIONAL RESOURCE (THE NCTH) BECOMES THE PRE-EMINENT TOBACCO RESOURCE. CANADA IS LOOKED AT AS A LEADER IN TOBACCO CONTROL AND ONE OF THE REASONS FOR THIS IS THAT IT LOOKS TO THE NGO COMMUNITY AS PARTNERS IN PROVIDING A BROADER BASE OF UNDERSTANDING AND SUPPORT FOR TOBACCO CONTROL INITIATIVES. |
