Description of the organization's activities: THE AEROSPACE INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION OF CANADA (AIAC) IS AN INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION REPRESENTING IN EXCESS OF 400 LARGE, MEDIUM AND SMALL CANADIAN ENTERPRISES THAT GENERATED MORE THAN 73,000 HIGH TECH JOBS AND REVENUES IN EXCESS OF $21 BILLION IN 2004. THE ASSOCIATION IS THE VOICE OF CANADA'S AEROSPACE INDUSTRY. AIAC ON BEHALF OF ITS MEMBERS UNDERTAKES ADVOCACY, EXPORT PROMOTION AND EVENT PLANNING ACTIVITIES.
Organization's membership or classes of membership: AIAC HAS APPROXIMATELY 400 MEMBERS CLASSED INTO FIVE CATEGORIES BASED ON THEIR BUSINESS ACTIVITY IN CANADA OR THEIR SALES REVENUE. BRIEFLY, THE CATEGORY CLASS DISTINCTION BREAKS DOWN IN THE FOLLOWING FASHION (SPECIAL CATEGORY WHOSE REVNUE EXCEEDS $225M IN SALES; CATEGORY I HAS THREE SUB-CLASSES BETWEEN $20M AND $225M; CATEGORY II COMPRISES SIX SUB-CLASSES FROM UP TO $500,000 TO $20M IN SALES). OTHER ISSUES WERE GENERATED BY THE FIVE OTHER COUNCILS (TRADE, SUPPLIERS, TECHNOLOGY, AFTERMARKET, DEFENCE/PROCUREMENT AND SPACE).
Subject Matter: Prospective: IMPLEMENTATION AND/OR OUTREACH PROGRAMS AS APPLICABLE WILL REMAIN PART OF THE ASSOCIATION'S PRIORITIES ON THE ISSUES RAISED.
