• Aboriginal Economic Development program funding -with respect to delays in processing funding agreement claims by the Atlantic Policy Congress of First Nations Chiefs Secretariat (APC)
• General discussion about INAC's new Funding agreements and renewals - APC expressed their general concern about the budget methodologies utilized by INAC to establish funding for specific activities.

Legislative Proposal, Bill or Resolution

• Bill C-3, an Act to promote gender equity in Indian registration by responding to the Court of Appeal for British Columbia decision in McIvor v. Canada (Registrar of Indian and Northern Affairs), with respect to issues , concerns and impacts of the proposed legislation and timeframe. Our main concerns and issues are: (1) proposed legislation is too narrow in scope as it does not address all discrimination inherent in the registration provisions of the Indian Act; (2) does not address the additional financial resources that will be required by First Nations and the federal government to address the needs of the additional new registered members; (3) estimates/projections of potential new registrants are unclear; (4) no compensation and/or damages will be awarded; and (5) does not address the broader issues related to First Nation citizenship, membership and identity.
• Bill S-11 Safe Drinking Water Act on First Nation Lands - with respect to lack capacity and financial resources for First Nations in order to implement
• New Federal Fisheries Act under consideration- with respect to concerns about the potential impact on protected Aboriginal and Treaty rights on the Mi'kmaq, Maliseet and Passamquoddy First Nations in Atlantic region and Gaspe region of Quebec
