Description of the organization's activities

The University is governed by a bicameral structure established by the Wilfrid Laurier University Act, 1973 and the Wilfrid Laurier University Amendment Act, 2001. The Act assigns direction for all operational aspects of the university to a 34 member Board of Governors. The Senate is responsible for academic programming. The Senate and Board of Governors have a broad membership including students, faculty, staff members, alumni business and community leaders.
