Dairy Farmers of Ontario markets milk on behalf on Ontario's 4,174 dairy farmers. It operates under powers delegated to it by the Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission under the Milk Act. Business programs and activities include: setting the price for raw milk; allocating quotas to bring forth the required production; arranging for the pick up of raw milk at the farm and delivery to processing plants; billing processors for milk purchased; paying producers for milk marketed; administering a raw milk quality program; carrying out education and communication programs; and, supporting dairy-related research.
