To advocate for the support of Mr. James Rajotte's Private Members Bill -Motion 269, which called on the government to begin implementing recommendations from the Federal Task Force on Financial Literacy (www.financialliteracyincanada.com). Specifically, the Task Force's recommendation #8, "The Task Force recommends that the Government of Canada, in partnership with stakeholders, provide tools to help Canadians to help Canadians become better informed about the role and benefits of professional financial advice, as well as how to choose a financial practitioner" (p. 44 in the Report of Reccomendation on Financial Literacy: Canadians and their Money: Buliding a brighter financial future -Dec. 2010).
