- CMHC - Advocating to retain policy research functions and ongoing role for CMHC to provide mortgage loan insurance and mortgage back security investments that support construction loan financing. Further advocating for more applicable CMHC programs that enable more attainable housing supply.
- GST Thresholds for New Housing - advocating for the federal government to update GST thresholds. Specifically eliminating the current regressive $350,000 and $450,000 thresholds and replacing with a single progressive threshold of $400,000.
- Home Renovation Tax Credit - OHBA supported the Home Renovation Tax Credit when implemented as a stimulous measure. We are advocating for the federal government to implement a permanent home renovation tax credit targeting energy efficiency to combat underground economic activity in the residential renovation sector.
- Long-Term Infrastructure Plan for Canada: OHBA is advocating for increased funding of "core" infrastructure including roads, transit, bridges, water and waste-water facilities.
- Mortgage Amortization - advocating for an extended amortization period of 30 years for home buyers.
- Mortgage Stress Test - OHBA is concerned that the stress test is compromising the ability of many Canadians to qualify to purchase a home.
- National Building Code of Canada (NBC) consultation related to code changes and the harmonization process
- National Housing Strategy - Advocating for national programs to encourage the supply of new housing including ownership, rental and affordable
- National Transit Strategy: As a component of the long-term infrastructure plan for Canada, OHBA is advocating for a permanenet, dedicated national transit strategy for Canada.
- Skilled Trades Development - promotion of skilled trades careers in construction.

The Ontario Home Builders' Association has 4,000 members organized into a network of 29 local assocations across Ontario. We are affiliated with the Canadian Home Builders' Association. We advocate for housing attainability and choice.
