Description of the organization's activities: The Animal Nutrition Association of Canada (ANAC) is the national trade association representing the livestock, poultry, and aquatic feed industry. ANAC is a national leader in the Agri-food sector, committed to building an environment that results in the sustainable production of safe animal nutrition solutions. ANAC represents the feed sector to government, regulatory agencies and other related stakeholders in the agri-food industry.

Contact has been through meetings, telephone and email communication, House of Commons Committee appearances, participation in round-tables and stakeholder discussion groups..
Subject Matter: Prospective: ANAC will continue to communicate and consult with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Agriculture Canada, Health Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency, the Ministry of Finance, and the Department of International Trade, including department officials, Ministers, and their staff; and with members of parliament on the following issues: regulatory matters related to the feed industry including product registration, inspection activities, and other matters arising from the Health of Animals and Feeds Acts; BSE and proposed enhancements to the ruminant feed ban; the importation of corn from the United States; matters related to veterinary pharamaceuticals; emergency planning and preparedness.ANAC will also meet with members of parliament to share information on the Canadian feed industry and issues of importance to this sector.
