Creole Heritage Association (formerly KDU Canada) is registered in Canada on a federal level as a member-based cultural organization and its mission is to provide Creoles in Canada with a forum for collective cultural expression. On a volunteer and non-profit and the objectives CHA Canada are: 1. To assist in improving the quality-of-life for creoles in Canada through offering education programs, policy and research, volunteer programs, information and research materials, outreach and support services. 2. To preserve, promote, protect and disseminate the history, language and culture of creoles and their descendants. 3. To promote public events and educational forums highlighting the Nova Scotia/Black Loyalist Creole History. 4. To encourage and facilitate contributions to social development initiatives in Sierra Leone by the CHA Canada’s Membership and supporters. 5. To develop fundraising campaigns in Canada allowing the organization to provide grants and scholarships to pre-University students in Freetown; and to fund infrastructural repairs, purchase equipment, furniture, books and materials in selected schools and/or institutions in Freetown. 6. To create social and cultural environment within the CHA Community that presents a positive history and heritage for our children.
