The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) wants to regulate the level of arsenic in foods, more specifically fruits. Arsenic is found naturally in foods and it is not harmful in any way for public health. Lowering the level of arsenic from 23 ppb to 10 ppb would be illogical and detrimental for the juice production industry and therefore maintains that the current limit of 23 ppb is not harmful for public health.
