EDC financing, with respect to trade development of markets inside and outside of Canada; we have reviewed the Direct Lending instrument and find it appropriate for our customers for sales of assets totaling more than $250,000 into the United States. In addition, we have identified a potential US DOD (Department of Defense) account for selling our products, and although the DOD finances the project in part, we may apply for Export Development Canada financing again.
Employment and Training, with regards to hiring recent graduates and postgraduate technical experts for consultation or R&D projects. We have identified R&D projects and applied for IRAP (Industrial Research Assistance Program of the National Research Council) funding for our employees, but we also intend to hire 1-2 engineering graduate students (chemistry and/or electronics). For this, we will use the NSERC (Natural Science, Engineering and Research Council) ENGAGE grants.
Energy, for participation in a number of programs regarding alternative energy generation, cogeneration, or vehicle fleet electrification; power costs and feed-in tariffs. We will be supplying grid-edge solar generation appliances in cooperation with several Quebec government entities and regional consortia. These include the CQRDA (Centre Qebecois de recherche et de developpement de l'aluminum), CRIAQ (Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Québec) and IVI (Institute for Vehicle Innovation).
Research and Development, Science and Technology, in regards to licensing university research, coinvesting in university or NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada) research projects, and applying for R&D tax credits as well as IRAP (National Research Centre's Industrial Research Assistance Program) funding opportunities.
Small Business, regarding applying for a variety of grants, loans, loan guarantees and other financing considerations for early-stage companies, companies with less than $50M of revenue or 100 employees.
