The Stratford Festival the largest not-for-profit theatre in North America, with annual revenue of $75M to $80M. It operates year round, employs roughly 1,000 people, creates a further 2,300 jobs and generates annual economic activity of $135M. It presents a dozen or more large-scale productions, which run concurrently from April into November, and attracts 500,000 visitors each year. The Festival has an international presence – welcoming about 25% of its audience from the United States. In addition to theatrical stage plays, the Festival is creating the first North American collection of all of Shakespeare’s plays on film, a project that serves to widen the Festival’s audience. In October 2020, the Festival launched an arts digital streaming service, the first of its kind in Canada.
