AltaLink is Canada's only stand-alone electrical transmission company. Its business is owning, operating, maintaining, and developing electrical transmission infrastructure in Alberta. Currently, AltaLink is responsible for approximately 12,000 kilometres of transmission lines and 300 substations in Alberta serving 85 percent of its population.
