- Advocate for the implementation of the 'Framework for Recreation in Canada’, the preeminent policy document on recreation developed collaboratively by all provincial and territorial governments (except Quebec), the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association, and the Provincial/Territorial Parks and Recreation Associations (including L'Association québécoise du loisir municipal (AQLM)).
- Advocate for the implementation of the federal government's current physical activity strategy entitled 'The Common Vision'
- Advocate for the implementation of ‘Parks for All, an Action Plan for Canada’s Parks Community’, developed collaboratively by the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association, the Canadian Parks Council, and many individuals and organizations dedicated to connecting Canadians with Nature while conserving lands and waters.
- Engagement in the current federal government's 'Canadian Sport Policy' - developed in 2011 and the participation in the renewal of the federal Canadian Sport Policy.

Description of the organization's activities
Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) is a national organization dedicated to realizing the full potential of parks and recreation as a major contributor to community health and vibrancy.
CPRA collaborates with a host of other national organizations operating in the recreation, physical activity, environmental, facilities, sport, public health, crime prevention and social services arenas.
Over the course of its 60-year history, CPRA has become a credible and strong national leader in our sector. In addition to our advocacy on the benefits of parks and recreation, we provide our members with the information, resources and the professional development they can use to make a difference in their own community. Through broad-based community involvement, we find solutions to social challenges, influence policy direction and generate momentum towards community quality of life.
