Poultry and Egg On-Farm Investment Program (PEFIP), with respect to an application for PEFIP funding. My client is an egg producer. During 2021/22 an existing barn with a conventional battery cage housing system was converted to a free-run aviary housing system. To accommodate the flock of 37,700 hens, a second barn was built. The application to PEFIP will be a retroactive application for reimbursement of funds for construction and retrofit costs associated with the new barn build and modernized aviary housing system.
