THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED BY INTERVIEWING SMALL- & MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES, AND IDENTIFYING THEIR KEY BUSINESS ISSUES AND OPPORTUNITIES. IN THE EVENT THAT THE MOST APPROPRIATE RESOURCE IS A GOVERNMENT PROGRAM, ISCM WILL REFER CLIENTS TO THAT GOVERNMENT BODY. IT MAY ARRANGE THE MEETING BETWEEN CLIENT AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL. A key activity is organizing seminars for Small/Medium Enterprises' to provide information on exporting.The organizing committee for these events includes representatives from NRC/IRAP, IT Canada and EDC amongst others. The purpose of this activity is to jointly provide information on how to export to foreign companies. 2) Event arrangement.ISCM organized an event in partnership with NRC to make local SME's aware of technology opportunities and research areas with which they might want to connect or get more information.NRC participated in the organization of the event, and four different labs from across Canada participated.From ISCM perspective, the purpose was to make some of our clients aware of development activities from which they could potentially benefit.ISCM is also negotiating an MOU with one of the NRC labs in the area of commercializing technology. This is consistent with our business plan. 3) ISCM did arrange a number of meetings between clients and IRAP ITA's so that the client could determine if there were opportunities to work with IRAP to secure funding. 4) ISCM did refer a number of business clients to the attention of Export Development Officers so the client could investigate the use of EDC services. 5) ISCM did work with business clients and the Business Development Bank of Canada to support them in discussing Financing issues. 6) ISCM did meet from representatives of Industry Canada to discuss the progress of the ISCM business model in servicing clients with business information and linkages. It also arranged a lunch meeting between Industry Canada and the Ministry of Innovation of Ontario to discuss their respective approaches to commercialization of technology. | ||||
