Membres ou types de membres de l'organisation. : | Professional member:An individual who is resident in the Province of Ontario and who holds a licence issued under the Professional Engineers Act (excluding a limited licence, a temporary licence and a provisional license). Associate - Resident member:A resident of the Province of Ontario who holds a professional engineering licence in a Canadian jurisdiction other than Ontario; or is a graduate of a CEAB (Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board) accredited program or holds an engineering degree from a university that has a CEAB accredited program; or holds a temporary licence, a limited licence or a provisional licence issued under the Professional Engineers Act. Associate - Non - Resident member:An individual who is not a resident of the Province of Ontario and who holds a professional engineering licence in a Canadian jurisdiction including a licence, a temporary licence, a limited licence and a provisional licence issued under the Professional Engineers Act; or is a graduate of a CEAB (Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board) accredited program or holds an engineering degree from a university that has a CEAB accredited program. Intern member:An individual who is resident of the province of Ontario and who is registered in the Engineering Internship Training Program (EIT) of PEO. Student member:A student enrolled in an engineering program at an Ontario university that either has or is seeking CEAB (Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board) accreditation.Honorary member:An individual who has made an outstanding contribution towards advancing the objects of the Society, as approved by the Board. Objets poursuivis : Renseignements rétrospectifs : | To date, we have written letters to Ministers Finley and Stronach regarding our desire for a labour market study done for internationally-educated engineering graduates who are entering the labour force in Ontario. We have also met with Minister Solberg's Chief of Staff to inform him and Citizenship and Immigration Canada of the problems and challenges facing internationally-educated engineering graduates in Ontario. We also corresponded with Minister Volpe on this same issue in 2005. | ||||||||
Objets poursuivis : Renseignements prospectifs : | QUALIFICATIONS-BASED SELECTION AND IMMIGRATION ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH INTERNATIONALLY-EDUCATED ENGINEERING GRADUATES ARE OUR PRIMARY LOBBYING ACTIVITIES THAT INVOLVE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. WE ARE EXAMINING THE USE OF QUALIFICATIONS-BASED SELECTION FOR INSFRASTRUCTURE PROCUREMENT PRACTICES INSIDE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. WE ALSO HAVE A TASKFORCE TO LOOK AT ALTERNATIVE ENERGY. WHILE THE FOCUS IS EXPECTED TO LARGELY BE PROVINCIAL, THE KYOTO PROTOCOL WILL BE EXAMINED AND THE TASKFORCE MAY RETURN WITH RECOMMENDATIONS CONCERNING THE FEDERAL POLICY AND LEGISLATION. | ||||||||
